Darwin’s Legacy of Deception #6

The term "survival of the fittest" is often use to justify abuse.

"I am bigger, am starter, I am fitter - we will compete and I will win and you will lose; I will have a good and comfortable life and others will not".

It is a misconception that "competition" is the driving force in the natural world.

It most certainly is not.

There is some competition when food resources are limited. But the driving force is cooperation and symbiotic relationships. Every organism has their place, and when they perform their "responsibility" all organisms benefit. A balance is established when every living thing sticks to their needs and “responsibility”.

That is how life flourished on Earth.

But along came the human and his egotistical and self-centred ways - and the result has been havoc for the natural world. Irresponsible killing of species, destruction of habitat, pollution... and we dared to call this "progress".

I am not saying we should not use the earth's resources, nor that we should stop eating animals.

The problem is the irresponsible use of the resources and the abuse we inflict on the animals.

It is obvious we cannot continue cutting down the ancient forests of the world, we cannot keep on overfishing the oceans, we cannot continue polluting the water and the air… Ultimately, no living organism benefits from this, including us.

Just because "we are the fittest" - just because we are the most intellectual and powerful species - it does not give us the right to go into competition with the natural world, destroy everything, and "win".

In fact, we need more the natural world than the natural world needs us. Yet, if we get our shit together, the natural world can indeed benefit from our existence. So far, Life on earth is losing because of our existence. That's shameful, to say the least…

Now let's look at human society and how this point of competition ("survival of the fittest") has also been causing untold suffering for humanity…

History is abound with wars. Instead of cooperating, we competed, we killed each other, abused each other: "I shall win, I shall prevail, and I shall take for myself everything you got. I will take your lands, your livestock, and your women - and MY descendents shall prosper and conquer more lands."

How fucking delusional must man be to have such thoughts and believe them to be valid?

Today, not many wars are fought with shields and swords… Today is an all out economic war!

It's a currency war! To see which "current" has the most "power" to extract the resources from other countries and squeeze out every ounce of human labour from the populations.

We designed a system that makes everyone fight for their piece of coin - everyone fights for their own survival.

Some businesses getting bigger and bigger, monopolizing every aspect of the human existence, keeping everyone slaves to consumerism - "buy! buy! Buy! -- or is it "bye bye"?

The kings and emperors of today are the CEOs and Shareholders of companies. In their battles they use capital and debt as ammo, and the vast majority of the population are the victims of this "trickle-up" economic scheme. (the eco-no-Me scam)

They are the most intellectual, they are the most powerful, they are the most resourceful - and so they WIN! ALWAYS! They are the fittest! Not only they survive, they thrive! While everyone else is actually in survival mode…

Tell me this isn't madness.

It's a Con-Petition.

Why are we signing up to this CON?

We've been conned.

It's time we stop this con-petition and start to co-operate.

Competition will only lead to more pain and destruction.

Cooperation means we "give as we would like to receive".

Cooperation means "everyone wins".

If you want to compete go kick a football or play some chess.

Competition cannot exist in anything that might become detrimental to life.

Life is not a game: not when you are starving, not when you have no roof over your head, not when you have no access to clean water, not when your child dies because the water they drank was polluted with faecal matter because there is no sewage system in the shanty town…

With this survival of the fittest mentality, humanity is losing...
